Drive Smarter is our free to download app available on Apple and Android that enables you to change settings for your compatible detector, as well as choose how and where your audio alerts play[1]. Our app includes all of the Defender Alerts[2] as well as Community Radar, Posted Speed Limits[3], Turn-by-Turn Navigation, and integration with CarPlay or Android Auto. Subscription is free[4] for owners of Cobra's Bluetooth-enabled[5] radar detectors and dash cams.
1. Audio routing is available through Bluetooth, CarPlay, or Android Auto. See our Drive Smarter Guide for more information. 2. Defender Alerts are provided as a live service and do not include downloads directly to the detector. To receive Defender Alerts with the Drive Smarter services, you must be either tether your detector to the Drive Smarter app with Bluetooth and keep the app open and running, or with 360c models you can opt to connect to a mobile hotspot that travels with the vehicle and receive those alerts through Wi-Fi. 3. Posted Speed Limits are not available in all areas. 4. Users without a Bluetooth-enabled detector can use all features of Drive Smarter with the exception of Turn-by-Turn navigation and changing settings on the detector. 5. Owners of certain models of Bluetooth-enabled detectors have an older Bluetooth chipset that is incompatible with Drive Smarter.
