The All Road Wireless PTT Button is convenient to talk handsfree while using a wireless headset, but it is not required.  Having the wireless PTT option is convenient because it attaches to your steering wheel and gives you a PTT solution at your fingertips without having to reach for the handset to PTT while driving.
