The HH50 handheld CB radio emits a series of four beeps that change in tone when the unit is powered on. If you are noticing that the radio is emitting this same 4-beep tone each time you press the Push-to-Talk button on the unit it is because the device is resetting. This can generally be attributed to one or more of the 9 batteries in the unit being faulty. If just one of the cells is bad, the voltage across the entire pack will drop during PTT causing the unit to power cycle. Try replacing the batteries or only the faulty one if you can determine which battery is the issue and the problem should be resolved.

If problems persist after replacing the bad batteries, contact Cobra customer service for assistance.
