Wi-Fi Connectivity via the device's internal Wi-Fi access point
Our devices use an internal Wi-Fi that allows connection with the phone/app so that you can access the camera's data. In addition, this access point will allow firmware updates via the cell phone, provided the cell phone has an internet/data connection. When you tap the gallery or camera icon, you will see a message that the all/phone is accessing this device Wifi internal network (within the camera/detector). Once this Wifi connection is established, you will be able to access the live view of the camera and the gallery of videos/pictures, etc. Note that this connection happens automatically when you access a feature that uses it, like the Gallery.
If you experience issues with this connection, you can also plug the device into a computer to view/save video clips or do firmware updates. Rest assured, the camera is always recording your drive and the footage is saved on the SD card in accordance with the product specifications.
The steps to access the gallery are:
- Ensure the phone is not automatically connecting to the camera's wifi, if it is use the phone's Wifi settings menu to forget that network.
- First verify the camera shows as "Connected" under the devices menu.
- Once this is confirmed, select the "Gallery/Live View" menu option.
- It should state it's trying to connect to the Camara.
- If it prompts you to join the camera's Wifi at this point, please do so.
- It should then state it's reading the file list. (this can take some time especially with larger sized SD Cards)
- Then it should provide a list of expandable dates to review videos and an option to access the live view.
- You can play and share the videos like you would any video file on your phone.
Please note; Currently, remote live viewing is only available via the front, main camera. Additional cameras will be added as soon as possible.
