Compatible Licensed Radios

Cobra Performa Radios

Cobra Performa radios are licensed radios, meaning that you must have an FRN (FCC Registration Number) before using the radios. You will be assigned frequencies at the time of license. If you have your license already, please see below. Otherwise, for help coordinating your FRN, please see our guide: Business Radio Licensing Information.


Cobra Programming Software supports Performa 600, Performa 450, and Performa 400 as of v4.0.0.


Cobra TrailBlazer Radios

You should have your FCC GMRS License and callsign before using your TrailBlazer GMRS radios. For assistance with licensing, please see our guide: TrailBlazer GMRS FCC Licensing


Cobra BlueBound Radios

Cobra BlueBound VHF Marine Radios are only programmable with the Copra Programming Software only by Authorized Marine Dealers.


For Marine Radio reprograming in North America, please contact an Authorized Marine Dealer in your area.


For Marine Radio reprogramming internationally, please contact our nearest Marine Distributor: International Distributors

Note that not all international distributors are able to handle Marine Radio, please consult the list to see who is capable.


Incompatible Radios

All other radios are incompatible with the Cobra Programming Cable and the Cobra Programming Software and cannot be programmed by end users.

Cable Requirements


The Cobra Radio Programming Cable (USB-C to USB-A) is needed to physically connect to the radio(s) to the computer.

  • Performa 400 and 450 radios only require programming the first radio, then if you so choose you can use the instructions in the Performa Manual to clone the settings to all other radios over the air (OTA)
  • Performa 600 radios can be programmed individually or 6 at a time using the optional 6-port charging dock
  • TrailBlazer GMRS radios must be connected by wire each time per radio for programming
